In a devastating incident, a small plane carrying two individuals crashed into a row of townhouses on Saturday morning near Portland, sparking fires and causing extensive structural damage. The crash has left at least one resident unaccounted for.

During an afternoon briefing, Gresham Fire Chief Scott Lewis revealed that fire crews are dealing with significant structural damage to the homes impacted by the crash. Visuals from KGW-TV depict one townhouse engulfed in flames, with black smoke billowing from adjacent houses. The fire spread to at least four homes, displacing six families. Two individuals received on-site medical treatment for unspecified injuries.

The aircraft involved, identified by the Federal Aviation Administration as a twin-engine Cessna 421C, crashed around 10:30 am near Troutdale Airport, east of Portland. The crash disrupted power lines and caused a brush fire in a nearby field. The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation, with two agents dispatched to document the wreckage.
