A textile testing laboratory in Guwahati, overseen by the ministry of DoNER, has marked a milestone by becoming the first NABL-accredited lab in the northeast, according to a statement released on Saturday.
The North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC) laboratory has achieved this significant honor, offering new prospects for regional weavers and producers.
Previously, manufacturers and weavers had to send their textiles to Kolkata for testing. The establishment of this state-of-the-art facility in Guwahati changes this dynamic, providing immediate and local access to top-notch testing services.
This accreditation serves as a testament to the lab's reliability, ultimately fostering greater customer confidence in the testing and calibration reports produced, the statement added.
