A second sexual offence case has been registered against director Ranjith, following a complaint by a male actor. Charges include sections under IPC and the IT Act. Allegations date back to 2012. Ranjith previously faced charges in a 2009 case. Multiple FIRs are emerging against Malayalam film personalities.
Another sexual offence case has been filed against director Ranjith after a male actor lodged a complaint in the district. The FIR includes sections 377 (unnatural offence) of the IPC and section 66 E (violation of privacy) of the IT Act, police reported on Saturday.
The actor alleged that in 2012, Ranjith invited him to a Bengaluru hotel, asked him to strip, and took nude photos, which were allegedly sent to a veteran female actor who denied the purported actions.
The director had already faced an earlier case involving a female actor from West Bengal who accused him of inappropriate conduct in 2009. These incidents have led to a wave of FIRs against high-profile Malayalam film figures following allegations unveiled in the Justice K Hema Committee report.
