Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Brunei on September 3-4, marking the first bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister to the nation and celebrating 40 years of diplomatic relations, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
From Brunei, Modi will proceed to Singapore on September 4-5 at the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. These visits aim to bolster India's bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including defence, trade, energy, and cultural exchanges, the ministry noted.
During his stay in Singapore, Modi will meet with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and interact with Singaporean leaders and business figures. The visits intend to deepen India's ties with both Brunei and Singapore within regional and multilateral frameworks, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
