Visa and THSC Partner to Upskill 20,000 Indian Youths in Tourism
Visa and The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) have joined forces in a three-year partnership worth up to USD 1 million to train 20,000 Indian youths in tourism-related skills. This initiative aims to enhance service quality in the tourism sector across 10 Indian states.

Visa and The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) have signed a significant agreement to collaborate over the next three years, aiming to invest up to USD 1 million to upskill 20,000 Indian youths in essential tourism-relevant skills.
The THSC operates under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and this new partnership builds upon Visa's existing cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism to train youth across 10 states, including Assam, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and West Bengal.
The initiative focuses on vital roles within the tourism sector such as tour guides, customer service executives, naturalists, and paragliding tandem pilots. Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary highlighted the project's potential to boost economic growth and job creation, while Visa's Kelly Mahon Tullier emphasized the importance of improving employment prospects and the tourist experience in India.
