The Uttar Pradesh government revealed to the Supreme Court on Friday that closure reports have been filed for three FIRs in connection with the web series 'Tandav', which allegedly offended Hindu religious sentiments.

During the hearing, the director of the series, Ali Abbas Zafar, alongside other key figures like producer Himanshu Mehra and actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, sought to combine and transfer the FIRs lodged in various states to a single jurisdiction.

A bench comprising Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan heard the case. The Uttar Pradesh counsel confirmed that all FIRs within the state had been closed, rendering further investigation unnecessary. The Supreme Court has allowed the impleading of Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, with further hearings set for three weeks later.
