TVU Networks collaborated with Red Bull Media House to deliver live transmission of the 2024 Wings for Life World Run, showcasing the harmony between green production and high-performance broadcasting. This partnership ensured flawless global coverage of the world's largest running event, attracting 265,818 participants from 169 countries, spanning 192 nationalities.
The event included seven flagship locations, 25 App Run Event locations, and numerous smaller App Run Events. While the flagship and App Run Events used cameras with TVU RPS One, a top-tier 5G transmitter, to send live feeds to receivers in Munich, the smaller App Run Events relied on the TVU Anywhere app on participants' phones to ensure reliable live feeds.
Journalists utilized TVU Partyline's Multiviewer to monitor multiple live feeds, selecting the most compelling moments to broadcast. This tool created a dynamic, real-time content stream that enriched the viewing experience. All feeds were recorded and managed through TVU Search, featuring facial recognition and speech-to-text capabilities for efficient content management.
Red Bull demonstrated that cloud workflows could handle the complexity of large-scale productions while promoting environmental sustainability. By integrating remote production with TVU wireless transmitters and mobile apps into a cloud workflow, they enabled unlimited ingesting, AI-based search, and real-time clipping. This approach increased viewer engagement and output to both digital and on-premise platforms.
Notably, the winner of the 2024 Wings for Life World Run was captured using the TVU Anywhere app, highlighting the app's crucial role in offering live feeds during pivotal moments of the race.
