A second FIR has been registered against actor Jayasurya, following a complaint by an actress. Kerala Police confirmed the FIR was filed under sections 354 and 354D IPC. The case, initially registered in Thiruvananthapuram, will be transferred to the Thodupuzha Police Station.

The allegations come in the wake of the Hema Committee report, which spurred several actresses from the Malayalam film industry to disclose incidents of sexual harassment. On Thursday, actress Sonia Malhar detailed her own experiences of mistreatment and exploitation during the early years of her career.

Sonia Malhar stated she faced various forms of harassment, including delayed payments and sudden replacements in film roles. The actress decided to come forward after learning of similar experiences faced by women from other states, expressing her frustration with the lack of respect and the silence from industry figures.

In a related incident, actress Minu Muneer brought forth allegations against the CPI (M) MLA Mukesh, alongside actors Jayasurya, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Idavela Babu, citing both verbal and physical abuse. Muneer's complaints added to the growing outcry from victims within the industry, shedding light on widespread misconduct.

Muneer's statement also included grievances against director Ranjith and actor Siddique, who resigned from their roles in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) due to separate accusations. She articulated her suffering on her Facebook page, recounting incidents dating back to 2013, which ultimately led her to leave the industry.
