Amidst intense political pressure, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday declared his readiness to apologize repeatedly and rectify the collapse of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue.
Speaking to the press, Shinde emphasized the importance of keeping the figure of Shivaji Maharaj out of political disputes. The breakdown of the 35-foot statue in Sindhudurg district has continued to spark controversy, leading to the formation of a technical committee by the state government to investigate the incident.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, alongside the ruling Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has led silent protests across the state to express dissatisfaction. Meanwhile, the Indian Navy, which supervised the project installed in Rajkot Fort, has affirmed its commitment to assist in the statue's repair and reinstatement.
