Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday stressed the critical role of credible media in achieving the qualitative transformation of democracy and socio-economic development in India. Speaking at an event, Gadkari stated that while politicians often seek media support, it is imperative that media alignment benefits democracy and the nation.
Highlighting the evolution of media, Gadkari noted the shift from traditional print and electronic media to social media, emphasizing that credibility and goodwill are essential. 'People rely on media for information that can transform our democracy,' he said.
Gadkari also discussed India's ambitions to become 'Atmanirbhar' and achieve a USD 5 trillion economy, citing employment generation and infrastructure development as key challenges.
