Paris Welcomes Paralympians with Grandeur at Champs-Elysées

Paris commenced the Paralympic Games with an extravagant opening ceremony on Wednesday, marking the final chapter of its summer sports series.
Against a stunning sunset, thousands of athletes showcased unparalleled spirit, parading down the Champs-Elysées to Place de la Concorde. Approximately 50,000 spectators filled the stands around the iconic square, made accessible via specially-laid asphalt strips for wheelchair athletes.
Under the supervision of French President Emmanuel Macron and International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons, fighter jets painted the skies with the French flag's colors, setting a grand tone for the competition that will feature over 4,000 athletes across 22 sports.
