On Tuesday, General Li Qiaoming, Commander of the Ground Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China, received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan's highest honors for his unwavering commitment to enhancing military cooperation between the two nations.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir attended the special investiture ceremony held at the President's House, along with service chiefs and parliamentarians. The citation applauded General Li's four-decade service, underlining his substantial contributions to China's military prowess and his role in promoting peace and stability.
Earlier, General Li met with Prime Minister Sharif to discuss the Pakistan-China friendship, particularly their bilateral defense and strategic partnership. Sharif emphasized the strategic importance of the enduring ties between the two countries, which are crucial for regional stability. General Li reiterated China's commitment to deepening its relationship with Pakistan, highlighting the PLA's dedication to bolstering cooperative efforts for regional peace and building military capacity.
