In a strategic move aimed at alleviating traffic congestion, 35 mandals in Pune have collaborated to organize a centralized Dahi Handi event at the iconic Lal Mahal Chowk near Shaniwar Wada. This unified celebration is set to take place on Tuesday, marking Krishna Janmashtami.

Among the participating mandals are the Shrimant Bhau Rangari Ganapati Trust, Shri Tambdi Jogeshwari Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandal, Tulshibaug Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandal, and Shrimant Peshve Ganapati Mandal. They collectively aim to ease the hardships faced by motorists in the congested Peth areas of Pune.

Puneet Balan, chairman of the Bhausaheb Rangari Ganapati temple, emphasized that the joint celebration seeks to prevent traffic snarls and reduce noise pollution. He took the initiative to convene the 35 mandals for this cause, which will also mitigate public inconvenience during the festival involving 'Govindas' forming human pyramids to break suspended 'dahi handis'.
