The hunt for 29-year-old gym trainer Vinayak Vaze, who went missing after being swept away by overflow from the Musai dam, entered its second day on Monday in Shahapur, Thane District, officials reported.
According to authorities, Vaze, a skilled swimmer, had been part of a group of 12 young people visiting a housing project near Khaire village when the incident occurred on Sunday evening.
Despite rigorous search efforts by specialized teams, police, and fire brigade personnel in the catchment areas, Vaze remains untraceable. Rising water levels caused by heavy rains further complicated the search operation.
