Bangladesh's interim government chief Muhammad Yunus on Monday engaged with leaders of the Hindu community, pledging to foster interfaith harmony in the wake of recent violence that targeted Hindu properties and temples.
The meeting, strategically aligned with Janmashtami celebrations, came after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's displacement and subsequent refuge in India on August 5.
Yunus, speaking at the State Guest Jamuna in Dhaka, emphasized the need for a unified nation where every citizen can practice their faith freely. He assured that his interim administration aims to uphold justice and equality for all.
