Borussia Dortmund fans voiced their disapproval of the club's controversial sponsorship agreement with Rheinmetall, the world's largest artillery ammunition maker, during Saturday's Bundesliga opener.
Dortmund's 2-0 triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt was overshadowed by banners condemning the three-year partnership, with slogans like 'Money first, values second' and 'Borussia connects, Rheinmetall kills.'
Supporters also staged a silent protest at the start of the second half, resuming their usual fervor after a few minutes. Over 81,000 fans attended the match at Westfalenstadion, where campaigners displayed a dummy tank and an activist wore a mask of Rheinmetall's CEO.
