The Chandigarh University International Film Festival 2024 concluded on Friday with an insightful panel discussion on the evolving Indian film industry and new opportunities for the youth in the entertainment sector.

Hosted by Chandigarh University's Department of Animation in collaboration with Vancouver Film School, the festival featured the screening of over 350 films, including 12 international entries, at the Gharuan campus. Among the films were 100 short films, 25 experimental films, 50 documentaries, 50 2D and 3D animation films, 25 VFX films, and 80 showreels.

The event, running since 2015, saw notable appearances from industry figures such as actor and director Rohit Tiwari, FICCI Chairman Ashish Kulkarni, and Asifa India President Sanjay Khimesara. In a panel on the globalization of Indian cinema, Tiwari highlighted the need for improved content quality despite India leading in content creation volume. Kulkarni and Khimesara emphasized the emotional aspects of storytelling and the booming Indian animation sector, respectively.
