In the early hours of Friday, a devastating fire in Novi Sad, a city in northern Serbia, resulted in the death of six people, four of whom were children. The tragic event unfolded around 3 am, as confirmed by the Interior Minister Ivica Dacic.
According to Dacic's statement, preliminary investigations indicate that the blaze may have been triggered by a charging electric scooter. The victims included children aged between 2 and 7 years old, adding a heart-wrenching element to the disaster.
Novi Sad, located approximately 90 kilometres (54 miles) north of the Serbian capital, Belgrade, is mourning the loss as authorities continue to examine the cause of this tragic incident.
