U.S. pop megastar Taylor Swift revealed on Wednesday that a "new sense of fear" came over her after authorities uncovered a plot to attack her Vienna concert venue, leading her to cancel three shows in the city.

Swift applauded authorities for foiling the plan that aimed to cause mass harm at Ernst Happel Stadium, where she was scheduled to perform. "Thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives," Swift stated on Instagram, marking her first public response since the incident surfaced two weeks ago.

Police in Austria arrested a 19-year-old man who admitted to planning a "bloodbath" at Swift's Eras Tour shows. Overwhelmed with guilt for disappointing fans, Swift's priority shifted to protecting nearly half a million attendees at her London concerts, which concluded safely on Tuesday, ending the European leg of her record-breaking tour.
