Actor Vicky Kaushal on Tuesday highlighted the contrast between Indian historical figures and Western fictional characters, stating that filmmakers in the West feel the need to create films like 'Avengers' due to a lack of 'real superheroes' similar to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

Kaushal stars as Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the upcoming period drama 'Chhaava', directed by Laxman Utekar, which is set for a December 6 release. Speaking at a special event at Chitra Cinemas, Kaushal said it was an honor to portray the son of Maratha empire founder Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The event featured a teaser of the movie shown to fans, with Kaushal emphasizing the importance of celebrating historical Indian superheroes. The cast also includes Rashmika Mandanna as Chatrapati Maharani Yesubai and Akshaye Khanna as Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, with music by A R Rahman and writing by Rishi Virmani.
