Kerala Government Weighs Justice Hema Committee Recommendations for Film Industry Reforms

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced on Tuesday that the state government is seriously considering the various recommendations put forth by the Justice Hema Committee, which includes the establishment of a tribunal and the development of a comprehensive Cinema Law.
During a press conference, Vijayan stated that recommended actions against crimes committed against women in the film industry are already under review by the relevant law enforcement agencies.
This announcement comes amid severe criticism from opposition parties, accusing the Left government of inaction over the past four years since receiving the committee's report. Vijayan has refuted these allegations, affirming the government's support for the victims and commitment to legal action against offenders.
