Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, Rakesh Pal, was cremated with full military honours at Brar Square in Delhi Cantonment on Monday. This solemn ceremony took place a day after his unexpected demise from a cardiac arrest.

Senior military officials paid their final respects to the esteemed officer, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh leading tributes at Pal's New Delhi residence. The 59-year-old flag officer had a distinguished career spanning over 34 years.

Rakesh Pal's legacy includes leading major operations that resulted in significant drugs and gold seizures. He held numerous top positions, including Additional Director General, and commanded various Coast Guard ships and bases. His expertise in the maritime domain was widely acknowledged.
