Hombale Films, the powerhouse behind blockbuster Kannada films, left an indelible mark at the 70th National Film Awards, clinching four prominent accolades for the year 2022. 'Kantara' and 'KGF Chapter 2' have risen as paragons of Kannada cinema's rich heritage and superior filmmaking.

The Yash-starrer 'KGF Chapter 2' bagged two top honors, including the National Film Award for 'Best Kannada Film' and 'Best Action Direction.' The film's compelling storyline and intense action sequences have garnered widespread acclaim. In parallel, Rishab Shetty was named 'Best Actor in a Leading Role' for his stellar performance in 'Kantara,' which also won the award for 'Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.'

Reacting to the accolades, Hombale Films founder Vijay Kiragandur highlighted the blend of tradition and innovation in their films. He remarked, 'Kantara' and 'KGF Chapter 2' epitomize Kannada cinema's cultural richness and excellence. Starring Yash, 'KGF Chapter 2' is a sequel to the 2018 sensation 'K.G.F: Chapter 1,' directed by Prashanth Neel. Notable for its impactful cinematography, evocative background score, and the iconic 'Violence! Violence! Violence!' dialogue, the film became the highest-grossing release of the year in India.

The sequel also features Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash, John Kokken, and Saran, and was released in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Meanwhile, 'Kantara,' an action thriller scripted and directed by Rishab Shetty, showcased dual roles played by Shetty, including a Kambala champion in conflict with a principled forest officer, portrayed by Kishore, with strong supporting performances from Sapthami Gowda, Pramod Shetty, and Achyuth Kumar.
