Salman Khurshid Elected President of India Islamic Cultural Centre
Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid has been elected as the new president of the India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC). He secured 721 votes, defeating rivals Asif Habib and Majid Ahmed Talikoti. Senior Congress leader and former external affairs minister Salman Khurshid has been elected president of the India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC).
Khurshid won the election with 721 votes, surpassing closest contender Asif Habib who garnered 278 votes. Majid Ahmed Talikoti, an oncologist and national convenor of RSS-backed Muslim Rashtriya Manch, finished third with 227 votes.
In a post on X, Khurshid expressed his gratitude, saying, 'I am deeply honored to be elected as the President of IICC. Thank you to all the members for your trust and support.' He also extended congratulations to all elected candidates and emphasized the collective efforts towards the betterment and preservation of IICC's values.
