A New Postbox: Tales from the Partition - A Documentary Teaser Released

A teaser for the documentary 'A New Postbox: Tales from the Partition' was unveiled in a ceremony to commemorate 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day'. A teaser for the documentary film 'A New Postbox: Tales from the Partition' themed on the 1947 Partition and its painful memories was officially released on Wednesday.

The film, directed by Sachchidanand Joshi, is set to air on Doordarshan and Sansad TV, according to a statement by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA). The release was part of an event marking 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day', and the teaser was unveiled by Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at Bharat Mandapam.

A book titled 'Vibhajan Ki Kahaniyan', narrating stories from the Partition, was also launched during the event. Other notable attendees included Minister of State for Earth Sciences Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada, and Indore MP Shankar Lalwani. Shekhawat highlighted the importance of remembering the horrors of Partition to educate future generations and clarified that the commemoration's intent is not political.
