The streets of Kashmir were adorned with the Tricolour on Wednesday, as several 'Tiranga' rallies filled the Valley on the eve of the 78th Independence Day.

Organised under the Centre's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, these rallies aimed to bolster a sense of national pride. One notable event was a walkathon arranged by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along the iconic Dal Lake, led by IG, Srinagar Sector, Ajay Kumar Yadav.

Starting from the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre and concluding at ghat no. 13 on Boulevard Road, this 3-km walkathon saw participation from CRPF personnel, including women. The Sashastra Seema Bal also conducted a 'Tiranga' bike rally in Batamaloo. Similar rallies were observed across districts like Ganderbal, Baramulla, Kupwara, Anantnag, and Shopian.

Thousands gathered in Baramulla's Watergam Rafiabad for another 'Tiranga' rally led by Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, featuring a 2.5-km-long Tricolour. Meanwhile, landmarks like the Martand Sun Temple in Anantnag were illuminated in the national flag's hues. Heightened security measures have been implemented to ensure a smooth Independence Day celebration, with the main event presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
