Myanmar authorities have released a detained Japanese employee of supermarket giant Aeon's local unit, TV Asahi reported on Tuesday, citing diplomatic sources.
A Myanmar court had sentenced the Japanese Aeon employee to one year in prison for violating rice price controls, Kyodo news reported on Monday.
The reason for the employee's release was not known.
