Tributes Paid to Khudiram Bose on 115th Death Anniversary

A large crowd gathered outside Muzaffarpur Central Jail on Sunday, commemorating the 115th death anniversary of Khudiram Bose, the youngest freedom fighter hanged by the British Raj in 1908.
Bose, sentenced to death for an assassination attempt on British Judge Douglas Kingsford, is celebrated for his bravery in the Indian independence movement. He and his associate, Prafulla Chaki, mistakenly killed two British women.
Officials, including Divisional Commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh and IG of Police Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande, alongside hundreds from Bose's ancestral village, paid tributes, garlanding his statue at the Khudiram Bose Memorial in Company Bagh, Muzaffarpur. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also honored seven people killed during the Quit India Movement near Patna Secretariat on August 11, 1942.
