New Delhi [India], August 10: Bollywood sensation Sidharth Malhotra captivated audiences on Friday as he graced the runway for designers Shantnu & Nikhil in Delhi. Malhotra took on the role of showstopper for their latest couture collection, a tribute to the disco era of the 1970s.
In an interview with ANI, Sidharth reflected on his evolving fashion sense. 'My style has come a long way from my college days in Delhi,' he noted. 'We have so many more options now, and fashion has evolved immensely. Today, I lean towards muscular silhouettes and comfortable fabrics in casual wear, while opting for fun tuxedos or jackets for events.'
Walking the runway in a striking velvet blazer over a vintage ruffle shirt, the 'Shershaah' actor added an impromptu dance to his performance, delighting the audience. Designers Shantnu & Nikhil explained their inspiration: 'The 70s were a time of great enthusiasm in music and fashion. We've drawn from that era to create a collection that celebrates its spirit.'
The show had models in retro outfits, with men donning bell bottoms and ruffled shirts, and women in glittery gowns and disco dresses. Veteran actress Zeenat Aman opened the event, setting the nostalgic tone for the evening.
Additionally, a live performance by Saba Azad and Imaad Shah, who performed 70s hits, added to the event's flair. Saba, who later joined Sidharth on stage for a dance, dazzled in a printed pink cropped blouse and flared black pants.
