Adivasi Mahotsav-2024: Jharkhand’s Rich Tribal Heritage Takes Center Stage

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasized the urgency to protect the unique tribal culture and identity of the state during the launch ceremony of 'Adivasi Mahotsav-2024'. He stated that it is high time to grant the 'exploited' indigenous people their rightful place in society.

The event, which coincided with the International Day of the World's Indigenous People, witnessed tribal men and women showcasing their traditional dances to the beats of 'dhol' and 'nagaras'.

Highlighting the rich history and struggle of Jharkhand's tribes, Soren expressed pride in the state being the land of icons like Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The two-day festival, attended by notable figures including State Coordination Committee Chairman Shibu Soren and Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, featured diverse cultural exhibits and art performances from tribes across states. Over 250 community forest rights leases were distributed, and 12 books were unveiled, celebrating the state's vibrant heritage.
