Senior CPI leader Annie Raja and about a dozen party workers were detained on Friday while protesting near Khan Market, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza, officials reported.
Raja and a few supporters, holding banners that read ''Ceasefire Now'' and ''Stop the Genocide'', attempted to march towards the Israel embassy.
Police detained them and transported them to the Tughlak Road police station. An officer noted that they would be released after spending some time in detention.
