President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi's bust at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School in Suva, Fiji, and engaged with students there.
Murmu, on a two-day visit to Fiji, laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in Suva to honor the martyred soldiers.
The President's Office confirmed her interactions with the students and shared images of the event on social media platform X.
Established in 1960 by the Gujarat Education Society of Fiji, the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School was the site for one of Murmu's tributes.
At another event, President Droupadi Murmu was bestowed the Companion of the Order of Fiji, the nation's highest civilian accolade, by Fiji's President Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere.
President Murmu's visit, the first by an Indian head of state to Fiji, will be followed by trips to New Zealand and Timor-Leste, aiming to advance India's Act East Policy.
