Chief Minister Hails Unity Amid Wayanad Landslide Tragedy

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday commended the unity shown by Kerala society in conducting rescue operations in the landslide-afflicted villages of Wayanad.
Addressing new police cadets at the police grounds, Vijayan described the Wayanad landslide as one of the worst tragedies in the state's history. He praised the rescue mission for transcending all differences and mentioned the critical role played by the police force.
The Chief Minister emphasized the immense global pain resulting from the disaster, saying, 'Kerala has not witnessed such a big tragedy in its history, and it has caused pain in the hearts of people across the world.'
On July 30, the death toll from Wayanad's devastating landslides rose to 226, with search and rescue operations still ongoing.
