President Murmu Honored with Fiji's Highest Civilian Award

On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu was awarded the Companion of the Order of Fiji, the highest civilian honor in Fiji. She praised the deep-rooted friendship between India and Fiji, reaffirming India's commitment to support Fiji in building a stronger, more resilient, and prosperous nation.
During her two-day visit, Murmu addressed the Fijian Parliament, emphasizing shared democratic values and mutual priorities. She highlighted new projects, including a Super Specialty Cardiology Hospital in Suva, as examples of the collaborative efforts aimed at benefiting the people of Fiji and the wider Pacific region.
President Murmu also acknowledged the significant contributions of the Indian diaspora in Fiji, who have been instrumental in fostering bilateral ties. She thanked Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka for hosting her and discussed further initiatives to enhance cooperation between the two countries. Her visit will continue to New Zealand and Timor-Leste, aiming to advance India's Act East Policy.
