In a tragic development at an Indore-based ashram, another child has died, raising the death toll to 11 over the past month and a half, according to an official report released on Tuesday.

The three-year-old girl, an inmate at Shri Yugpurush Dham Bal Ashram, was admitted to Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya in critical condition on August 3. Despite intensive care, she succumbed to her illnesses, which included vomiting, diarrhoea, and severe dehydration, late on Monday night, according to Dr Preeti Malpani, the hospital's superintendent.

The ashram has been under scrutiny following an administrative probe that revealed significant lapses in the facility's management, including overcrowding, poorly maintained medical records, and other institutional irregularities.
