Thackeray Pushes Financial Aid for BEST, Urges BMC Action

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray emphasized the need for Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to financially support the city's power and transport service, BEST. In a meeting with Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, Thackeray highlighted unresolved local and citywide issues, stressing on urgent road repairs, Ganpati festivities preparations, and improvement in public infrastructure.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Monday highlighted the pressing need for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to provide financial backing to the city's primary power and transport utility, BEST.

"This afternoon we met the Hon'ble Municipal Commissioner, Shri Bhushan Gagrani ji with multiple delegations from G South ward. We discussed and resolved several local issues, while also addressing prominent citywide matters," Thackeray posted on X.

Emphasizing the necessity of maintaining affordable bus services, Thackeray stated, "The BEST must be supported financially by the BMC. Its commitment to running buses at affordable rates must not be hampered by financial troubles and reduced fleet size."

Additionally, Thackeray underlined the importance of repairing roads before the Ganpati festivities and creating artificial ponds in every ward for idol immersion. He also called for careful planning of the coastal road landscape, banning hoardings, and speeding up infrastructure projects like the Delisle road bridge.
