Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Saturday that his administration will construct 100 houses for the victims of the recent landslide in Wayanad.
Through a social media post on 'X', Siddaramaiah conveyed Karnataka's solidarity with Kerala. 'I have assured CM Shri @pinarayivijayan of our support and announced that Karnataka will construct 100 houses for the victims. Together, we will rebuild and restore hope,' he stated.
Congress leader and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi, sharing Siddaramaiah's post on 'X', expressed deep gratitude to Karnataka's people and government for their generous support in these challenging times. 'Your commitment to building 100 houses for the victims of the tragic landslide is a significant step towards rehabilitation efforts. The compassion and solidarity of Indians are the strengths that Wayanad needs right now,' he added. The landslide killed 215 people, injured over 500, and left around 300 missing, as rescue efforts continue under difficult conditions.
