The drama, starring Vijay Varma, Dia Mirza, and Naseeruddin Shah, is based on the 1999 hijacking of an Indian Airlines aircraft. Netflix released a teaser, providing a preview of the gripping narrative.

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha's upcoming series 'IC814 The Kandahar Hijack' is set to stream on Netflix from August 29, featuring Vijay Varma, Dia Mirza, and Naseeruddin Shah in leading roles.

The gripping drama is based on the infamous 1999 hijacking of an Indian Airlines Airbus, which was en route to New Delhi from Nepal and carried 188 passengers. This incident remains the longest aviation hijacking in India's history.

Netflix has unveiled a teaser on Instagram, providing a sneak peek and announcing the release date. Directed by Sinha, known for 'Mulk', 'Article 14', and 'Thappad', the series also includes performances by Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Arvind Swamy, and Patralekha.
