In a remarkable initiative, Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty and her cricketer husband KL Rahul have partnered with eminent members of the cricket community for a charitable cause. Together they announced a special auction, titled 'Cricket for a Cause: To Benefit the Vipla Foundation', aimed at supporting the Vipla Foundation, previously known as Save The Children India.

The auction will showcase 27 unique cricket collectibles, including jerseys, gloves, and bats, donated by cricket legends such as Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, as well as international stars like Jos Buttler and Quinton de Kock. A spokesperson for the Shetty family highlighted the significance of the auction in a recent statement. Discussing the initiative, Athiya Shetty fondly recalled her childhood experiences with the foundation and expressed her desire to honor her grandmother's legacy by continuing her philanthropic work.

KL Rahul shared his emotional connection to the foundation, emphasizing the profound impact the children had on him during his first visit. He noted the overwhelming support from the cricket fraternity in donating valuable memorabilia for the auction. Rahul encouraged participation in the auction, stating it was an opportunity for each bidder to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of children with hearing and intellectual disabilities.

The charity auction is scheduled to take place on August 23, according to ANI.
