The Originals Season 6: ‘Some spin-offs are possible in future,’ says creator

‘The Originals’ Season 6 is always expected and the avid viewers are passionately waiting for the announcement of renewal since Season 5 ended on August 1. ‘Will there truly be Season 6?’ is a million-dollar question now.

Unfortunately, ‘The Originals’ Season 6 is not going to take place. In other words, there isn’t going to be another series as The CW has not renewed for another season. The series creator, Julie Plec confirmed last summer that the spin-off of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ would mark its end with the airing of all the episodes of Season 5.

“It’s both a gift and burden to be able to control the ending of a series,” the 46-year old Plec said. She further opined that completing or closing a show is always bittersweet, but for her it was a true blessing to be a part of making such a choice.

There were also some petitions from the series’ dedicated viewers against the cancellation (or discontinuation of ‘The Originals’ Season 6) but their efforts proved to be futile when Plec made the above announcement. For those who are still expecting the series to come back, let us ensure them that they have to say adieu to the Mikaelson family.

However, Plec’s words, in some other way, gave some hope when she just mentioned that there may be a chance that they will be visible on the television screen again. She further clarified it saying that some spin-offs are possible in future. This gives a minute ray of hope to fans that they may someday rework on the story on Mikaelson family but no one can say when this thing can happen.

There is another reason why fans always expect ‘The Originals’ Season 6. Season 5 showed the unexpected demise of two vital characters – Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Harley (Phoebe Tonkin). Fans want to see what happens to her daughter and her grown-up stage as Harley died while protecting her daughter. Lots of such other expectations are there from the dedicated viewers.
