The Malayalam film industry is mourning the loss of veteran producer and director M Mani, fondly known as 'Aroma' Mani, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 84. Mani's family confirmed that his death was due to age-related ailments.

A prominent figure in Malayalam cinema, Mani was responsible for producing numerous hit films such as 'Dhruvam', 'Irupatham Noottandu', and 'Oru CBI Diary Kurippu'. In a statement, the FEFKA Directors' Union highlighted that Mani produced 62 movies under his banners 'Aroma Movies' and 'Sunitha Productions'.

Mani's contributions were recognized by senior political figures, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan, who both extended their condolences. Mani's body will be placed at Bharat Bhavan for the public to pay their respects before his funeral in Aruvikkara.
