Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has clinched the prestigious Golden Sand Master award at the International Sand Sculpture Championship in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Held from July 4 to 12 at the iconic Peter and Paul Fortress, the event saw participation from 21 master sculptors from around the globe. Pattnaik's winning creation was a 12-foot sculpture featuring a chariot and Lord Jagannath with his devotee Balaram Das, a revered 14th-century Odia poet.
The Indian embassy in Moscow lauded Pattnaik's achievement, emphasizing the international recognition he continues to bring to Indian sand art. A recipient of the Padma Shri, Pattnaik has showcased his work in over 65 international competitions, always conveying profound social messages through his art.
