Song Kang, who made waves with his shirtless scenes in Sweet Home Season 2, recently discussed his thoughts on portraying an explicit scene in the hit series.

In an interview about Sweet Home 2 at a café in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 5th, Song Kang revealed various behind-the-scenes stories of the Netflix original series. The interview was conducted in Korean and later translated into English.

Sweet Home Season 2 follows the journey of Hyun-soo (played by Song Kang) and fellow survivors navigating a world where desire transforms into monsters. The characters fight for survival in a new home while encountering mysterious beings and unknown phenomena.

Taking on the role of Cha Hyun-soo, a specially infected person with monstrous wings, Song Kang delved into the character's world, portraying a devastated environment. He voluntarily participated in an experiment, facing monster humans without any clothing, covered in blood for an aggression experiment - a scene that generated significant attention.

Song Kang clarified, "I had many discussions with director Lee Eung-bok. Hyun-soo is not human; he's a monster human, an object of observation and research." Explaining the decision to shoot the explicit scene, he added, "We needed to observe Hyun-soo's entire body, hence the decision for the character to be unclothed. The part with the blood wasn't computer-generated; we completed it in one take. After filming, a lot of the initial discomfort disappeared, and I felt more confident. There were positive aspects to it as well."

Responding to comments about his character having an exceptionally good body for a student, Song Kang noted, "Hyun-soo transformed into a monster in Season 1, and although he returned to a human state in Season 2, the concept was that his body had formed to a certain extent."

As for his appearance in torn clothes in Sweet Home 2, Song Kang said, "I was naked a lot in Season 1, so I didn't feel any pressure about being exposed. This time, I didn't lose weight to be completely thin; instead, I ate as much as I could to give the monster a fuller feel. I worked really hard, going to the gym twice a day," revealing his dedication to the role.

All the episodes of Sweet Home Season 2 were released on December 1.
