The Night Manager, a British series featuring Tom Hiddleston, has fans buzzing with anticipation as rumors of a potential Season 2 circulate. While not officially confirmed by Amazon and the BBC, whispers suggest a two-season order may be on the horizon, following the critical success of Season 1.
Based on John le Carré's 1993 espionage novel, The Night Manager follows Jonathan Pine, a former British soldier turned night manager of a luxurious Cairo hotel. Angela Burr, the head of a task force investigating illegal arms sales, recruits Pine to infiltrate the inner circle of arms dealer Richard Roper. The British series, initially developed for the BBC and later embraced by AMC for American audiences, has earned widespread acclaim.
According to Deadline’s reports on March, plans for The Night Manager Season 2, which is set to be filmed under the code name Steelworks in London and South America later this year, but subsequent updates on the progress have been scarce. The filming may have encountered delays due to industry strikes. Although producer Simon Cornwell has expressed excitement about a potential Season 2, he acknowledged that John le Carré wrote only one book related to the story.
During a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz's Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Tom Hiddleston was directly questioned about the possibility of The Night Manager Season 2. In response, the actor revealed, "Some ingredients have been bought, and they are in the kitchen on the table." However, he refrained from confirming the actual existence of Season 2.
Hiddleston elaborated, emphasizing that the fate of Season 2 rests in the hands of Simon and Stephen Cornwell at Inkfactory, who happen to be the sons of John le Carré. He stated, "This is kind of in the lap of Simon and Stephen Cornwell at Inkfactory who happen to be John le Carré's sons. And I think definitely some ingredients have been bought, and they are in the kitchen on the table, the stoves are being turned on."
Despite no concrete announcements, Hiddleston hinted at the existence of plans, saying, "There are cooks in the kitchen. We will see what can be cooked up in that kitchen. We will see, but there are definitely plans."
As for the release date of The Night Manager Season 2, There is no confirmation. Still, let's guess! If filming begins in 2024, a potential release could be expected either late the following year or in early 2025.
