A much-loved expansion of George R. R. Martin's rich world, HBO's 'House of the Dragon' Season 2, is all set for its second season, promising fans new adventures, unexpected turns, and unforeseen alliances. With filming nearing its completion, the latest revelations about 'House of the Dragon Season 2' have stirred quite the discussion among fans.
Despite a Hollywood writers' strike disrupting much of the entertainment industry earlier this year, 'House of the Dragon Season 2' managed to sail smooth waters. Thanks to HBO's foresight in securing all the scripts in advance, 'House of the Dragon Season 2' production progressed without hitches, keeping the series on track for a 2024 summer debut.
The series, renowned for its ensemble cast including the likes of Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke, has always kept a tight lid on plot details. However, a new revelation suggests a deviation from Martin's original 'Fire & Blood' narrative. According to Redanian Intelligence, instead of Joffrey Velaryon accompanying Rhaena Targaryen to the Eyrie, it seems Prince Aegon Targaryen, son of Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen, will undertake this journey in the seventh episode of 'House of the Dragon Season 2.'
This change has sparked curiosity, especially considering Joffrey Velaryon's original role in the books. In Martin's version, a 12-year-old Joffrey is requested by Lady Jeyne Arryn to journey to the Vale, emphasizing the need for a dragon rider's presence. However, 'House of the Dragon Season 2' has portrayed Joffrey and his dragon Tyraxes as significantly younger, possibly prompting this narrative change. Moreover, the show's portrayal of Aegon III in 'House of the Dragon Season 2' as a toddler, with his dragon Stormcloud still in its hatchling phase, might further necessitate alterations to his storyline.
While the exact reasons behind this plot change remain under wraps, it undoubtedly adds another layer of mystery to the already eagerly-awaited 'House of the Dragon Season 2.' We will keep an eye on the series and update you accordingly.
