In this chapter, the Weapon Hybrids were planning a horrific attack. They wanted to create the loudest screams by targeting women and children, thinking their higher voices would be more effective. They even talked about harming them badly for quick reactions. As they were about to carry out their plans, Sugo saw a child stumble, which he took as a sign that he was on the right path. He tried to mentally prepare himself by thinking he was only "borrowing" his body for a short while.

But before the Hybrids could launch their attack, what seemed to be a Public Safety officer attacked them. Sugo managed to transform but was quickly killed by Quanxi. Quanxi then reported her successful mission to Public Safety. A news segment also hinted at a possible clash between Public Safety and the Chainsaw Man Church. At the church, someone told Haruka Iseumi to gather fighters to protect the weapons they stored underground.
