In the previous chapter, Spy x Family Chapter 86, things got intense. Wheeler was knocked out by Nightfall's attack, and as she was about to strike again, Twilight woke up and stopped her. He didn't want unnecessary deaths. They then tied up Wheeler, and Nightfall began to worry that Twilight might have overheard her expressing her feelings for him.

However, it turned out Twilight didn't catch on to her feelings. He thought Nightfall was upset with him for losing his edge, so he apologized. Twilight revealed that his arm injury was from Yuri Briar, whom he spared because Yuri's love for Yor motivated her to go along with their fake marriage. Nightfall couldn't help but call Twilight out on this, seeing it as a way to hide his feelings for Yor by making his actions seem necessary for Operation Strix.

Later, they were rescued by another WISE operative, and all four of them managed to escape. Loid was taken back home, where Yuri explained her fake grievances and expressed happiness at him needing her help. Yuri noticed Loid's injured arm but couldn't find a bullet wound when she checked.

The chapter ended with Loid secretly covering up his injury and feeling like he's losing his edge.

After the Wheeler arc, Spy x Family Chapter 87 is expected to bring some light-hearted stories featuring Anya at Eden Academy. While it's hard to predict the plot of Anya's carefree side stories, they are sure to be joyful.

However, the series will eventually shift its focus back to Twilight, either in Chapter 87 or in future chapters. Despite narrowly avoiding being exposed by Yuri, it seems like something significant is building up involving Twilight and his Loid Forger persona.
