The sequels to 2009’s superhit blockbuster movie Avatar – Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 – are almost finished. Now the audiences can gradually prepare themselves to once again return to Pandora almost after a decade. The enigmatic stalwart behind the movie like Titanic has recently updated fans with the production progress, in which he has revealed that main cast for both the sequels has wrapped production.

The 64-year old director, James Cameron took to Twitter to post a video. He revealed that while working continues for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, the principal cast has now completed filming for both the long-awaited sci-fi films.

“Hi, James Cameron here and today I’m coming to you from the set of the Avatar sequels — and behind me, you can see our performance-capture stage. Today we are capturing some stunt scenes filming some stunt scenes but our principal casts are all wrapped: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet. They are done now but they gave us incredible performances. And I can’t tell you how proud I am of the work that they did on these films,” Cameron opined in the video.

Earlier it was highly elucidated that a part of Avatar 2 would take place underwater. For that, the team also prepared its potential to increase technical prowess and genius audio-visual equipment for which Cameron as a director is always at the forefront. This is one vital reason Cameron and his entire team took almost a decade to develop the necessary technological tools for working on motion-capture aquatic realistic. Hence, the release of the much-awaited movie was postponed several times and now the movie is scheduled to hit the big screens on December 18, 2020.

In the video, the director is further seen elucidating or making a tad promotion for Alita: Battle Angel, the movie which is slated to have its premiere on February 14, 2019. Although the movie is directed by Robert Rodriguez, Cameron alongside Titanic producer Jon Landau produced for it. At one point of time, Cameron was quite passionate to direct Alita: Battle Angel but due to his extreme focus on Avatar sequels, Once Upon a Time in Mexico’s director Robert Rodriguez picked up the opportunity.
