Netflix's latest venture into animation brings forth it’s first-ever Korean-language animated film, "Lost in Starlight," with a star-studded voice cast featuring Kim Tae Ri and Hong Kyung. The film delves into the realm of romance, chronicling the poignant long-distance love story between Jay, an Earth-dwelling musician, and Nan Young, an astronaut stationed on Mars.

The captivating narrative follows Kim Tae Ri's Nan Young, a distinguished astronaut with scientific prowess. Nan Young holds onto a fervent aspiration, driven by the mystery of her mother's vanishing during a Mars expedition. Her cherished dream eventually materializes when she secures a spot in the 4th Mars Exploration Project in the year 2050.

In the role of Jay, Hong Kyung masterfully portrays the love interest of Nan Young. Jay isn't solely a melodious artist but also a specialist in the restoration of vintage instruments. The heartwarming love story between the two protagonists is kindled when Jay serendipitously crosses paths with Nan Young, a happenstance facilitated by an antique turntable passed down from her mother.

To infuse authenticity and depth into their characters' emotions, both Kim Tae Ri and Hong Kyung are fully committed, participating in pre-recording sessions and live-action filming segments.

Han Ji Won, the creative force behind the film, commands both the pen and the director's chair for "Lost in Starlight." Han Ji Won's earlier work, "Kopi Luwak," a short film she helmed during her tenure at Korea National University of Arts, left a distinct mark on the domestic animation landscape. The recent addition to her filmography, "The Sea on the Day When the Magic Returns," even earned a coveted spot at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.

The production is spearheaded by Climax Studio, the visionary team behind notable works such as "D.P." and "Jung_E." As anticipation mounts for "Lost in Starlight," fans of animation can expect a visual and emotional feast from this collaboration.

Kim Tae-ri's cinematic journey includes notable works like 'The Handmaiden', 'Little Forest', 'Space Sweepers', and TV series such as 'Mr. Sunshine' and 'Twenty-Five Twenty-One'. Her performance in 'Twenty-Five Twenty-One' garnered her a Best Actress accolade at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards. Additionally, this drama became a monumental hit and is now among the top-rated Korean cable TV dramas.

Hong Kyung, on the other hand, has left an indelible mark with performances in 'Innocence'—which earned him a Baeksang Arts Award—'Weak Hero Class 1', and 'Revenant'. Apart from TV roles, Hong was seen in Taeyeon's music video for 'Can't Control Myself'.
