Queen Woo: TVING's upcoming historical K-drama unveils powerful cast at first table read

TVING's original Kdrama series, 'Queen Woo', recently unveiled an exciting sneak peek into its initial table read session. The highly anticipated series is set to offer a captivating historical action-drama showcasing the riveting power struggles in the royal court.
After the unexpected demise of the king, Queen Woo, portrayed by Jeon Jong Seo, finds herself in a critical situation. She has a mere 24 hours to ensure the rightful heir ascends the throne amidst the political turmoil caused by ambitious princes and five influential clans, each seeking to gain power in the wake of the king's death.
The series, directed by Jung Se Gyo and penned by screenwriter Lee Byung Hak, promises to enthral its viewers with a stellar cast line-up that includes Kim Moo Yul, Ji Chang Wook, Jung Yu Mi, and Lee Soo Hyuk, amongst others.
In the table read, Jeon Jong Seo embodied the character of Queen Woo with a captivating blend of dignity and boldness, bringing the historical figure to life with great finesse. Her portrayal of Queen Woohee of Goguryeo, characterized by beauty and wisdom, held the room's attention effortlessly.
Kim Moo Yul, in the role of Eul Paso - the chief military officer of Goguryeo - was impressed with his seasoned skills, capturing the shrewd character's tone perfectly. Ji Chang Wook, portraying King Go Nammu, turned the room into a battlefield with his commanding performance.
Adding to the captivating tension of the pursuit of the throne, Jung Yu Mi, in the role of Woosoon, Queen Woohee’s elder sister, and Lee Soo Hyuk, as Prince Go Balgi, added to the suspense of the royal chase with their stable performances.
Filming for 'Queen Woo' kicked off on the same day as the table read and the Kdrama is set to premiere on TVING in 2024. For international fans, the series will also be available on Paramount Plus, ensuring that the thrilling pursuit for the throne reaches a global audience.
